About me

Learning a musical instrument and or music theory can be challenging. I pride myself in finding the best route to improving your understanding of music and the instrument you love.

Having taught in schools and communities all over the world, my students have ranged from 5 years old to 80. Any ability, and background…..

You will find me lessons rigorous but fun, ensuring any weaker areas of your learning are strengthened and with that your confidence too!

Experience

I'm a professional musician, and have been teaching privately since 2010 and in group settings since 2011. My students have learned to read music from being complete novices, and my whole classes have gone on to have successful performances. I have a MMus from an established conservatorie, which I received in 2017.

Teaching Style

With beginner students I usually start with the absolute basics. I will work with the student to find their aims and long term goals, as well as just playing for fun. I like to incorporate music theory into every lesson as I believe it is fundamental in understanding and the enjoyment of playing drums.
I am very patient, and interested in finding the best way each individual student learns.
