About me

I am an energetic and enthusiastic teacher, keen to help you find or continue your passion for music!

Having previously taught at King’s College London and gaining a Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music (LRAM) teaching diploma I am an experienced and enthusiastic teacher now teaching via Skype and Zoom from the comfort of your own home, as well as in person in London and Surrey. I am a professional opera singer, but enjoy singing and playing in many styles.

I have experience working with both adults and children and will tailor my lessons to each student’s specific needs and goals. I am delighted to prepare students for ABRSM exams or to help instil a love and passion for music through building skills and technique outside of exams. I am also fully DBS checked.

Younger children may be more suited to 30 minute lessons, whereas older or more experienced children and adults can enjoy the 45 minute to 1 hour sessions.

Experience

I have taught singing and piano privately since 2012, and upon gaining my Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music (LRAM) in 2017 I have also taught at King's College London and other private music academies.

Teaching Style

I have a 'fun first' approach to music teaching. I believe that my biggest responsibility is to instil and foster a love and passion for music, whether that is in singing, piano or music theory. I remember being turned off piano by what I considered to be 'boring' lessons when I was younger, so my lessons can often be silly, with games or exercises I have created to help my students learn in a fun, relaxed environment. Building confidence is a speciality of mine, and these skills can be useful to anyone in many aspects of their life.
